How does paramedical tattooing work?

Paramedical tattooing involves the delicate process of depositing pigment into the dermal layer of the skin, transforming its appearance in a similar fashion to traditional tattooing. However, unlike conventional tattoos, paramedical tattoos employ medical-grade ink that seamlessly blends into the skin rather than standing out. In addition, skillfully placed shadows and highlights can be incorporated to create a stunning three-dimensional effect, while small dots replace solid lines for a more natural finish. This technique even accommodates seasonal changes in the skin's pigment, ensuring a consistently appealing look. While multiple treatments are usually required to achieve the desired outcome, the results of paramedical tattoos are predominantly permanent, with periodic touch-ups recommended for optimal maintenance.

Is paramedical tattooing right for me?

Before undergoing our procedure, it is crucial that your scars are fully healed. This is especially important if you have had surgeries or injuries in the past. Keep in mind that the healing process varies for each individual, with some healing faster than others. Typically, scars take anywhere from 12 to 24 months to heal completely.

If you are uncertain whether it is the right time to cover up your scars, we highly recommend consulting with your surgeon or primary care physician. Their professional opinion will ensure that you make an informed decision about proceeding with the tattooing process. This approach will save you time and ensure the safety of the procedure.

During our free consultation, our experts may request a consultation with your doctor if necessary. Our priority is to ensure that your scars are in the optimal condition for treatment. Safety always comes first. Once your doctor clears your case and confirms that you are ready, we will promptly schedule your procedure, eliminating any risks or doubts along the way.

We look forward to helping you achieve your desired outcome while prioritizing your safety and well-being. Schedule your free consultation with us whenever you feel ready!

What are the medical benefits of paramedical tattooing?

There are various medical conditions and treatments that can affect facial hair, such as Alopecia Areata, Trichotillomania, Hormonal and Thyroid Conditions, burn injuries, chemotherapy and/or radiation, antibiotic courses, or simply experiencing loss or growth retardation of facial hair. In such cases, micropigmentation techniques can be employed to restore the appearance of hair in affected areas and help to boost the self-esteem of clients.

Is a consultation necessary for paramedical tattooing?

We offer a complimentary in-person consultation to kickstart your experience. During this session, we will dive into your medical history, address any concerns you may have, and assess your eligibility as a candidate. Additionally, we will conduct a skin patch test to ensure optimal tolerance of the pigment, if applicable. Rest assured, your well-being and satisfaction are our top priorities.

Is paramedical tattooing painful?

Topical anesthetics are utilized to minimize discomfort during the procedure. While slight discomfort is common, it varies among clients due to individual tolerance levels. Fortunately, most clients report only mild discomfort. The client's pain threshold, technique, and proper application of the topical anesthetic play crucial roles in ensuring client comfort throughout the procedure.

Am I a candidate for scar camouflage?

The scar camouflage technique offers a solution for camouflaging scars, burns, birthmarks, and other skin imperfections caused by surgeries and injuries. If you've been left with an unsightly scar from an injury, this procedure could be the ideal choice for you.

How long will areola tattoo results last?

For your areola tattooing treatment, it's important to understand that the tattoo pigments used are long-lasting, but they won't last forever. If you notice any fading, don't worry! You can always come back for a follow-up treatment. The touch-up process is similar to the initial treatment, but it may be shorter. This ensures that your areola tattoos continue to look their best and remain vibrant.

Are there any safety issues I should be concerned with?

We prioritize the safety and hygiene of our procedures. All our practices strictly adhere to the rigorous standards set by OSHA for Bloodborne Pathogens. Our commitment to maintaining OSHA certification includes an annual exam to ensure up-to-date compliance.

You can trust that all the materials and needles used at our studio are sterile and disposable, providing a hygienic environment. We follow strict sanitation and sterilization guidelines recommended by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). Each application uses single-use sterile needles, and our pigments are sourced from approved compounds.

We understand your concerns about safety. When proper sterilization and sanitation guidelines are followed, Permanent cosmetics are a safe choice. It's important to note that while tattoos are generally safe, it's crucial to consult with a reputable artist who follows all recommended safety precautions. Tattooing carries some risks, but they are minimized when appropriate disinfection and sterilization techniques are used.

What about insurance? Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept insurance. The Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act (WHCRA) requires insurance companies to cover the complete reconstruction of your breast after surgery. This includes areola tattooing if you lack the appearance of an areola and nipple, or if you have only partial areola color.

Another shortcoming of the WHCRA is that the requirement of coverage only applies to private group health insurance plans (employer based) and individual health insurance policies (nonemployer based), but not federal or state programs (Medicare or Medicaid). These private insurance companies are prohibited from rejecting claims for all stages of reconstruction of the breast, on which a mastectomy has been performed.

About Christy

Paramedical Tattoo Artist in Huntsville

I have had a diverse background, including five years of military service before getting married. I've been happily married for 22 years now, and my husband, being a veteran, has given us the opportunity to explore different parts of the world. As a proud mother of four, I had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom for the first 11 years of my children's lives. During this time, I also enjoyed being an aerobics instructor, witnessing the joy on women's faces as we danced our way to fitness, and contributing to their well-being.

My passion for empowering women and helping them feel better about themselves led me to pursue a business related to women's beauty. In 2016, I started EyelashYou, with the mission of adding value to women's lives through cosmetic tattooing. I hold over 12 certifications, and I am fully licensed and insured.

What truly excites me is the opportunity to extend these services to our community. Every year, hundreds, if not thousands, of women in our area go through the challenging journey of breast cancer, often ending up with a mastectomy but without a nipple or areola. To me, it is crucial for these women to regain a sense of completeness and normalcy in their lives. That's why I want to provide easily accessible services to the North Alabama area.
